Death Of Rasputin Reopens In McKittrick Hotel This Halloween

The halls of the McKittrick Hotel will once again host an immersive theater experience—and this time it’s The Death of Rasputin.

Despite Emursive’s claims that the property at 530 West 27 Street was destined for a future of condo renovation, it appears there is some artistic spirit left in the McKittrick Hotel yet. News dropped some months ago that the New York City-based p arty organizer Tell No One would host a set of four Halloween 2025 parties in the now-vacant Sleep No More NYC space.

But recently (and subtly), a surprising piece of information was dropped on the Tell No One homepage. As the website’s copy outlined what partygoers could expect floor-to-floor, this blurb appeared after some scrolling:

floors four & five — Death of Rasputin

…an exclusive preview experience of the upcoming immersive show, The Death of Rasputin, find your way here for a brief narrative escape from the party all around you…

And, as of today, 15 October 2025, Kelly Bartnik (Death of Rasputin producer and one of the Artemis Is Burning founders… not to mention the original Bald Witch of Sleep No More NYC) posted two Instagram stories. The first simply featured a photo from the finale of The Death of Rasputin on Governor’s Island. The second was a video of her renovating a room; it’s likely one of the floors where the exclusive (?) Tell No One preview of Death of Rasputin will take place.

The Death of Rasputin Instagram account also posted a series of stories featuring various production photos; each one carried this single quote:

“The candles have been lit. The snow runs red once more…”

Here’s a screenshot of one of the stories:

Personally, I was considering going to a Tell No One party anyway, just as an excuse to roam around the McKittrick Hotel one more time. But when I caught wind of the Death of Rasputin mention, I was sold.

At the time of this writing, it’s unknown if this Death of Rasputin revival is just for Halloween 2025, or if it will continue afterward.

Still, what an irony—to have former Sleep No More NYC cast members putting on a scrappy, independent immersive theater show in a space once marred with so much big-business drama over the years.
